Introduction to Our Grief Lessons

by Peggy Sweeney

Whether you are beginning a grief journey or have been traversing along your path for some time, my goal in providing these lessons is to help adults, adolescents, and teens cope with their grief following the death of a loved one as well as other losses we experience in our lifetime.

We will explore the many facets of grief, the reasons we grieve, our reactions to loss and trauma as well as healing our pain and moving forward in living life to the fullest.

We will discuss a broad range of topics that can debilitate the human spirit and prevent us from enjoying life. Eventually, you should come to the realization that unpleasant events can and often do have a very negative effect on your emotional health and physical well-being. As your guide for understanding grief, I will offer positive coping skills and resources to help you resolve many of these issues. I hope that you will use the materials provided as a reference to help you cope with your personal grief and loss issues.

May I suggest that you share this site with others who may be struggling with their grief or are having difficulty understanding why “you aren’t over it yet”. Please feel free to contact me at peggy@sweenyalliance.org at any time.
